July 2017 the FBI raided the home of shady Washington insider Paul Manafort. Part of this was an intimidation by the Special Counsel’s office to put the fear of God into the Manafort by threatening his family. One of the people hired by Robert Muller specializes in these kind of tactics. Curious how Manfort’s star had fallen to such a place where the press were openly celebrating the leaked news of his misfortune. Although Manafort’s involvement with the Trump campaign was short-lived when Manafort first came into the Trump circle of trust oh how the pundits cheered. Manafort was a serious Washington beltway Republican, with a serious toupee, not whatever the hell is on the Presidents head.
At that time Manafort was viewed as someone reliable to get Trump under control, perhaps it was a sign Trump was going to finally take the election seriously by morphing into something more presidential, more Jeb! like. None of that happened, Trump is still Trump, Jeb! is still low energy, and Manafort was quickly brushed aside.
The FBI raid while a bullying tactic and low blow to involve the family, I do not particularly have issue with how this predawn raid was conducted. What has given me pause and what I have never seen mentioned is how the Feds bypassed Manafort’s security system. After all what snake den is complete without some sort of intruder alarm? Perhaps even more extreme measures to prevent kidnapping -I’ve seen the Taken trilogy these things are out there. So what happened to Manafort’s?
How did the FBI bypass the security at casa de Manafort? Several possibilities exist from the benign to mundane. Maybe they didn’t deactivate anything and the alarm rang proud and true, to an agent watched the key code be entered, cloned a control fob, or just unplugged the system. The only answer that concerns me is if the Feds pressured the security company into the deactivation of the alarm. If the security company protecting Manaforts man-cave were coerced into cooperation this seems like the greater violation of liberty, perhaps one we all should be concerned about. Other than that I would like Manafort along with the rest of the DC insider lobbyist groups (including Hillary’s campaign manager) to do hard time. Not the cushy ‘Club Fed’, the federal resorts prisons politicians build to house their fallen brethren, but the nasty penitentiaries they build for the rest of the population. You know the places that make Gitmo look nice.
