Fifth Beatle Trey Gowdy<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Trey Gowdy, who may actually just be an emaciated Mathew McConaughey playing a role, has announced he is not seeking reelection. Sparking concerns this poor under fed fellow may not be able to make ends meet on his Congressional retirement of $17,900 a year. Whatever will he do?
\nSome believe he will accept an analysis role at Fox News or other media outlet, some suppose he might go back to the legal profession, maybe private practice.<\/p>\n

I don’t believe any of those choices would be grand enough for the pigmentationaly challenged former prosecutor, the Republican memos on FISA abuse and forthcoming Inspector General report on the DOJ will open such a huge<\/em> can of worms it will require another Special Counsel be established to investigate the investigators. This is the job I think Trey Gowdy wants and is making moves to make himself available for it now. He would relish the opportunity to dig in to the bureaucracy for untold years with no oversight and no limits on budget or authority. Especially after James Comey challenged Gowdy’s place as the Most Self-righteous Man in America,<\/em> this is would be Gowdy’s chance to put all doubters in their place and (probably) send pretender to the throne (Comey) to the big house.<\/p>\n

If this is the job Gowdy wants should he be allowed to have it? I’m not so sure, his whole Congressional career was setting himself up as a beyond reproach prosecutor only interested in the truth. So dedicated to it he even went in circles investigating Benghazi only clear Hillary Clinton of any wrong doing just in time for a presidential run. I should point out he was not alone, most criminal investigative agencies in Washington did the same thing, all wrapped up any investigations into the Clintons well ahead of the election in hopes of not incurring her presidential wrath.. Irony is all of those precautions at preemptive CYA by the ninnies in charge of federal bureaucracy were unnecessary and we still do not know a lot about Benghazi, well except for we can not hold those in power calling the shots culpable.<\/p>\n

Maybe Gowdy is exactly what he pretends to be and is all about “Truth, Justice, and the American way”, just like Superman, but I don’t trust this at all. We all want an honest cop to clean up the corruption, problem is the pool we have to choose from is tainted. We have spy agencies who decry any attempt at oversight and we are supposed to trust in a FBI whose top agents were conspiring to influence political outcomes. We also have a Special Counsel who hired a lot of bad apples, and when head of the FBI mismanaged investigations into: Russian Uranium, the spy ring surrounding the Clinton’s, and Clinton foundation, to top it all off he only has his current position because two of his former underlings (possibly conspired to) put him there.<\/p>\n

If Trey Gowdy is retiring from politics just because, then I wish him Godspeed. If he is setting himself up to ‘watch the watchmen’ then thanks but no thanks, we already have secured other services, the mayor of Gotham City none other than Batmanuel!.<\/p>\n
